International Student Ambassadors (ISA) is a volunteer-based organization and was first established in 2012. We are the international degree-seeking students studying at the UT.

We help prospective students get to know the university as well as lifestyle in Tartu. We can answer your questions or share real experiences of living and studying in Tartu. We make sure that students feel bonding between themselves and the university from the very beginning.

We voluntarily represent our countries and the international student community in Estonia and the University of Tartu abroad (at conferences, festivals, fairs). Through our experience, you can start planning your own studies at our university.

As for current students, we organize events that integrate international students with the locals as well as help them navigate their future study and career plan. We serve as a communication channel for international students to give feedback to the Student Council of the university.

You can read our stories on ISA blog, follow us on the Facebook and Youtube.

Don’t hesitate to contact us and ask practical questions about studying or living in Estonia. Through our experience, you can start planning your own studies at our university!

How to apply

Any international degree-seeking student of UT can apply to the ISA. The call for new ambassadors opens in September every year. You can find the online application form on this website during the application period. If accepted, you should expect to be with us for at least one year.
All new members will receive a UT t-shirt and hoodie, a profile on the website, opportunity to lead projects and participate in cool motivational events, and training. At the end of your studies, you will receive a certificate signed by the Rector and a recommendation letter from the Marketing Office.
